About Lumecca®

Lumecca® uses intense pulsed light (IPL) to selectively target pigment and vascular concerns in the skin. Light energy is absorbed by melanin and haemoglobin, which then gradually fade as the skin renews.

It is often chosen for sun damage, age spots, freckles, redness and the appearance of broken capillaries — as well as a more even, refreshed complexion overall.

A short course is typically recommended, with results building treatment by treatment. Your practitioner will assess your skin and advise whether Lumecca® is suitable, and how to prepare and aftercare.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Lumecca® painful?

Most clients describe a warm, mild snapping sensation — similar to a light elastic band. It is generally well tolerated, and treatment time is relatively short.

Is there any downtime?

Downtime is usually minimal. Temporary redness is common and may last a few hours to one or two days. Pigmented spots can darken before they flake or fade — this is expected.

Who is Lumecca® suitable for?

Lumecca® is typically suited to clients concerned with pigmentation, redness, sun damage or visible vessels. Suitability depends on skin type and the concern being treated, and is confirmed at consultation.

When will I see results?

Some clients notice a brighter, more even look after the first session. Results continue to develop over the following weeks as the skin clears and renews.

How many treatments will I need?

A course is often recommended, with sessions spaced around four weeks apart. The exact number depends on your skin and the concern being treated.

Can Lumecca® be combined with other treatments?

Yes — it can form part of a wider skin plan. Your practitioner will advise on timing and which treatments pair well with Lumecca®.
