Anti-Age & Wrinkle Treatments in Denton, Greater Manchester
Soften. Refine. Refresh.
At SHÈ Aesthetics in Denton, Greater Manchester, we offer personalised anti-age and wrinkle treatments designed to soften visible lines while maintaining natural facial movement and expression.
Lines and wrinkles can develop for different reasons. Some are caused predominantly by repeated facial movement, while others gradually become more established within the skin and remain visible even when the face is at rest.
For this reason, there is no single approach to treating every line.
Depending on your individual concern, treatment may include anti-wrinkle injections, carefully selected soft dermal filler techniques, or a combination approach.
Every treatment begins with a detailed consultation so that we can assess your facial movement, anatomy, skin and existing lines before recommending the most appropriate treatment for you.
Book your consultationHow Do Anti-Age & Wrinkle Treatments Work?
Anti-age and wrinkle treatments work differently depending on how a line has developed and whether it is visible during facial movement, at rest, or both.
Anti-Wrinkle Injections
Anti-wrinkle injections work by temporarily reducing the activity of carefully selected facial muscles.
Every time we smile, frown, raise our eyebrows or make other expressions, the muscles underneath the skin contract. Over time, repeated movement can cause expression lines to become increasingly visible and eventually more established.
By carefully reducing excessive movement within selected muscles, anti-wrinkle treatment can soften the appearance of dynamic lines and help prevent them from becoming more deeply established, while preserving natural facial expression.
Treating Established Lines with Soft Dermal Filler
When a line has already become deeper or remains visible when the face is relaxed, reducing muscular movement alone may not provide sufficient improvement.
For carefully selected superficial lines, a very soft dermal filler may be used using a precise blanching technique.
This involves placing very small amounts of an appropriate soft filler superficially into the line, providing delicate support beneath the skin and helping to soften its appearance.
This technique can be particularly useful for certain fine, established or superficial lines where additional support is required.
Not every line is suitable for filler, and treatment selection depends on the area, depth of the line, skin quality and individual anatomy.
Some clients may therefore benefit from anti-wrinkle injections alone, others from a carefully selected dermal filler technique, and some from a combination of the two.
Our Approach to Anti-Age Treatments
At SHÈ Aesthetics, our approach to anti-age treatment is considered, individual and intentionally natural.
We don’t believe that successful treatment means removing every line or eliminating facial expression.
Instead, we assess how your face moves, where lines are developing and which changes are actually contributing to your concern.
Your consultation considers your facial anatomy, muscle strength, expression patterns, skin quality and whether lines are present during movement or have become established at rest.
From there, your treatment is tailored specifically to you.
For one person, that may mean subtly reducing excessive muscular movement. For another, an established superficial line may benefit from carefully placed soft dermal filler. In some cases, a combination of treatments may be appropriate.
The aim is always the same: a fresher, softer result that still looks naturally like you.
Anti-Wrinkle Treatment Areas
Upper Face Anti-Wrinkle Treatment
Upper-face anti-wrinkle treatment is designed to soften expression lines caused by repeated muscular movement, particularly across the forehead, frown area and around the eyes.
Treatment is individually planned according to your facial anatomy, muscle strength, movement patterns and existing lines.
1 Area
Treatment focuses on one appropriate upper-face area, such as the frown lines, forehead or crow’s feet. The area selected will depend on your individual concern, facial movement and clinical assessment.
2 Areas
Two appropriate upper-face areas are treated together. Treatment is planned according to how the muscles interact rather than simply treating lines in isolation, allowing us to maintain natural movement while softening the areas causing concern.
3 Areas
A more comprehensive upper-face anti-wrinkle treatment, typically involving the forehead, frown lines and crow’s feet. Treatment is tailored to your individual muscle activity rather than using the same approach for every face.
Gummy Smile Treatment
A gummy smile describes increased visibility of the gum above the upper teeth when smiling.
For some people, this occurs because the muscles responsible for elevating the upper lip are particularly active.
Small amounts of anti-wrinkle treatment can be carefully placed into selected muscles to reduce excessive elevation of the upper lip when smiling.
The aim is not to alter your smile, but to create a subtle reduction in gum show while maintaining natural expression.
Suitability depends on the underlying cause of the gummy smile and will be assessed during consultation.
Lip Flip Treatment
A lip flip is a subtle anti-wrinkle treatment for the upper lip.
Small amounts of treatment are placed into carefully selected points of the muscle surrounding the lip, gently reducing its inward pull.
This can allow slightly more of the upper lip to remain visible, particularly when smiling.
Unlike lip filler, a lip flip does not add dermal filler volume to the lips. It may therefore be suitable for clients who would like subtle enhancement or whose upper lip tends to turn inward or become less visible when they smile.
DAO Treatment
The depressor anguli oris — or DAO — muscles contribute to the downward movement of the corners of the mouth.
When these muscles are particularly active, they can contribute to a downturned appearance around the mouth.
Carefully positioned anti-wrinkle treatment can reduce excessive activity within these muscles, helping to soften downward pull around the corners of the mouth.
Because the muscles of the lower face work closely together, treatment requires careful assessment and conservative placement.
Smoker’s Lines Treatment
Fine vertical lines around the lips are often referred to as smoker’s lines, although they can occur whether or not someone has ever smoked.
They may develop through a combination of repeated lip movement, ageing, skin changes and loss of structural support.
Treatment depends on the nature of the lines.
Where muscular movement is contributing to the concern, small amounts of anti-wrinkle treatment may help reduce excessive contraction around the mouth.
Where fine lines have already become established within the skin, a carefully selected soft dermal filler and superficial blanching technique may be considered to gently support and soften individual lines.
For some clients, combining techniques may provide the most appropriate approach.
Masseter Treatment
The masseters are powerful muscles situated towards the back of the jaw and are involved in biting, chewing and clenching.
In some people, these muscles are naturally strong or become enlarged over time. This can contribute to a wider or more square appearance through the lower face.
Anti-wrinkle treatment can be placed into the masseter muscles to reduce excessive muscular activity.
Over time, reduced activity may also allow the prominence of the muscle to decrease, creating a softer appearance through the lower jaw in appropriately selected clients.
Treatment is planned according to individual anatomy, muscle strength and the reason for seeking treatment.
Brow Lift Treatment
Eyebrow position is influenced by several muscles that either elevate or pull down on the brow.
By carefully treating selected muscles responsible for downward pull, anti-wrinkle injections can sometimes allow a subtle elevation of the brow, creating a slightly more open and refreshed appearance around the eyes.
An anti-wrinkle brow lift is intentionally subtle and is very different from a surgical brow lift.
The result possible depends heavily on your natural eyebrow position, facial anatomy and muscle movement.
Nefertiti Neck Lift
The platysma is a thin, superficial muscle extending across the neck and into the lower face.
In some people, activity within this muscle contributes to visible vertical neck bands and downward muscular pull through the lower face and jawline.
A Nefertiti Neck Lift uses strategically placed anti-wrinkle treatment to reduce selected platysmal activity.
For suitable clients, this may help soften visible neck bands and reduce muscular downward pull through the jawline and lower face.
Not all changes to the neck or jawline are caused by muscle activity, so consultation is essential to determine whether this treatment is appropriate.
Dimpled Chin Treatment
A dimpled, puckered or uneven appearance of the chin can sometimes be caused by excessive activity within the mentalis muscle.
This may be particularly noticeable during facial movement or expression.
A small amount of anti-wrinkle treatment can be carefully placed into the mentalis to reduce excessive contraction, helping the surface of the chin appear smoother and more relaxed.
Treatment is conservative so that normal lower-face movement and expression are maintained.
Why Your Anti-Wrinkle Consultation Matters
Every face — and every line — is different.
Two people can have what appears to be the same wrinkle and require completely different treatment.
Lines and wrinkles develop through a combination of facial movement, muscle strength, skin quality, genetics, lifestyle and the natural ageing process.
This is why your consultation at SHÈ Aesthetics is such an important part of your treatment.
We assess your face both at rest and during expression, considering your anatomy, muscle movement, skin quality and the depth and position of existing lines.
We can then determine whether your concern may be better suited to anti-wrinkle injections, a soft dermal filler technique, another skin treatment, a combination approach — or no treatment at all.
There is no standard formula.
Your treatment plan is created around your face, your skin and your individual goals.

How long do anti-wrinkle injections last?
The duration varies between individuals and can depend on the treatment area, muscle strength, dose used and how your body responds.
For many clients, the effects gradually reduce over several months as normal muscle activity returns.
Your individual treatment and maintenance schedule can be discussed during your consultation and review.
When will I see the results?
Anti-wrinkle injections do not produce their final effect immediately.
Changes usually begin to develop gradually after treatment, with the full result taking longer to become apparent.
Your practitioner will explain what to expect from your particular treatment and whether a review is appropriate.
Will anti-wrinkle injections make me look frozen?
The aim of treatment at SHÈ Aesthetics is not to remove all facial movement.
Treatment is individually planned and carefully placed to reduce excessive activity in selected muscles while maintaining appropriate natural expression.
The amount of movement retained will depend on your anatomy, muscle strength, treatment area and desired result.
Is there downtime after anti-wrinkle treatment?
Downtime is generally minimal, although temporary redness, tenderness, swelling or small marks around injection points can occur.
As with any injectable procedure, there are potential side effects and risks. These will be discussed with you before treatment so that you can make an informed decision.
Can dermal filler be used to treat wrinkles?
Yes, in appropriately selected cases.
Where a fine or superficial line has become established and remains visible at rest, a very soft dermal filler may sometimes be placed superficially using a precise blanching technique.
This can gently support the skin and soften the appearance of the line.
Not every wrinkle is suitable for dermal filler, which is why assessment of the line, skin and treatment area is important before deciding on the most appropriate approach.
How do I know which treatment I need?
You don’t need to decide before booking.
Your consultation is designed to identify what is contributing to the concern and which treatment, if any, is most appropriate.
We will assess your facial movement, anatomy, skin and existing lines and discuss the options available before creating a personalised treatment plan.
